Jiu Jitsu Combatives Focuses on individual self-defense techniques and is the foundation for all Jiu Jitsu training. The Combatives class will include detailed instruction on the 36 Jiu Jitsu principles, concepts, and core techniques of basic self-defense practices all students must know. Topics covered include: mount techniques, guard techniques, escape techniques, punch block techniques, take down techniques, joint lock techniques, and choke techniques, All white belts must show proficiency in all techniques, and test out with the professor to graduate to the intermediate/advanced classes.
For those wishing to obtain a black belt, complete mastery of all 36 techniques is a requirement.
Professor Lee recommends all beginner students start with the Jiu Jitsu Combatives class and pair it with the jiu Jitsu Fundamentals class for the optimal training program.
